Professional biography

Trained across SKIMS, PGIMER, Sir Ganga Ram, and Paras before joining FMRI.

Dr. Dharmender Malik is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram. With over 12 years of clinical experience in nuclear medicine and PET-CT imaging, he is one of TPPL's senior physicians and the first author on the foundational Indian publication concerning upfront Lu-177 PSMA radioligand therapy in treatment-naive prostate cancer (Clinical Nuclear Medicine, 2021).

Dr. Malik completed his MBBS at Pt. B.D. Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak, followed by DNB in Nuclear Medicine at the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Srinagar — one of the few centres in north India offering DNB-level training in nuclear medicine. He went on to complete his MNAMS (Member, National Academy of Medical Sciences) at PGIMER Chandigarh, then earned the Fellowship of the Asian Nuclear Medicine Board (FANMB) in 2018. He is also certified as an AERB Radiation Safety Officer (RSO Level II).

Before joining FMRI, Dr. Malik served as Senior Resident at PGIMER Chandigarh, then as Consultant at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, before being appointed Consultant & Head of Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT at Paras Hospitals, Gurugram, where he led the team that established the centre's PET-CT department from the ground up.

His clinical interests span PET-CT imaging and reporting, Lu-177 PSMA radioligand therapy, radioiodine therapy for differentiated thyroid carcinoma, I-131 MIBG therapy for neural crest tumours, and myocardial perfusion imaging. He is an invited reviewer for the Asia Oceania Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Biology and a regular presenter at national and international nuclear medicine conferences.
